The host broadcaster of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, Denmark’s DR, has announced details of its selection process for next year’s competition to be held in Austria.
Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2015 will be held on February 7th and the venue will be the 8,500-capacity Gigantium arena in Aalborg, which previously played host to the event in 2012.
Entries can be submitted between now and early September, and the organisers claim to be looking for songs that do not necessarily fit the “Eurovision” mould, citing Conchita Wurst and the Common Linnets as examples.
Denmark has a strong recent record at ESC, with four top ten finishes (including a victory, of course) in the past five contests. They finished 9th on home soil in Copenhagen this year with Basim’s “Cliché Love Song”.
