After waiting for a victory for more than 45 years, Austria won the Eurovision Song Contest again – for only the second time ever!
Conchita Wurst from Austria scored the highest result with the song “Rise Like A Phoenix”. In total, she collected 290 points, ahead of The Netherlands (2nd, 238 points) and Sweden (3rd, 218 points).
It was the first time since 1988, that only countries of Eurovision’s earliest years came into the Top 3.
The runner up of the ChatVote Armenia (“Not Alone“) came 4th. ChatVote favourite Israel (“Same Heart“) didn’t only qualify for the final, it also came only second last in its semi-final.
The actual winner, Austria, was one of the countries that we predicted for victory (read more).
That’s all for now, a more detailed analysis will follow at some point soon.
And so, we’d like to congratulate Conchita Wurst and Austria for the victory!
