A Night on the EuroBoat (with video)

Last Friday, the EuroBoat hosted hundreds of fans for the biggest event that everyone had access to (with ticket). It went off around 9 and returned a few hours later. Four live acts performed on the EuroBoat, the disco music was provided by popular DJ Ohrmeister.

“Molvanian Hairline” were the first to perform. If you don’t know about the fictive country “Molvania”, you should look for it online. The Eurovision connection is that Molvania tried to enter the contest with the band and the song “Vlajdi Tudemun“. The little southeastern european country had a few attempts to enter ESC before: “Elektronik Supersonik“, sung by Zladko “Zlad” Vladcik, was hoped to be Molvania’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004, another attempt was done in 2005 – again with Zlad.

A bit later, Igor Cukrov took the stage. Igor took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, where his song “Lijepa Tena” ended up on place 18 in the final.

Igor performed a couple of songs, most notably Kada Zaspu Andeli (Croatia 2000) and of course Lijepa Tena. See parts of the performances in our video at the end of the article. As he was singing “Hold Me Now”, he asked Nicki French to join him on stage, where they both sang together and let the whole audience on the deck sing along. Two of the Molvanian stars couldn’t be stopped from entering the stage as well.

As the ship went by the city silhouette including the illuminated TV tower, the disco went full speed ahead. Later, Nicki French gave her appearance on the stage inside of the ship, as entertaining as always.

The party went on everywhere on the ship, even after we landed back in Düsseldorf, when Wind (Germany 1985, 1987 and 1992) took the stage. BBQ food was available on the top deck, and a lot of beer and wine must have been poured over the evening. Don’t forget to check out our video at the bottom of the page.
