It’s the third and last edition of this year’s Instagram guide!

In our previous posts, we took a look at the most popular and the most aesthetic Instagram accounts of this year’s Eurovision contestants. Today, we will focus on those with the most personality! Who do we think is the most authentic, the most personal and the most “real” on the platform? Let’s find out!

1. Gjon’s Tears

Representing: Switzerland

Instagram account: gjon.s_tears

Followers: 32.3k

When we’re talking about the accounts with “the most personality”, it’s not necessarily about posting a “lot”. Gjon is rather spare with his posting frequency, but very active when it comes to Instagram stories. Anyway, he has so much charisma that his personality shines through on his gallery all the time anyway. Gjon, how are you?

Despite his Eurovision song, “Tout l’univers”, being so sophisticated, deep and calm, the Swiss singer seriously has a crazy side too (in the positive meaning of the word), and he quite likes to demonstrate it on his account.

We get a sense of his fashion sense…

…and have questions re: what some of his video posts actually are about…

…and finally, we hope this didn’t end the same way as the official video of his Eurovision entry begins.

2. Eden Alene

Representing: Israel

Who’s next? Eden Alene!

Eden shares a lot of insights into her professional and her private life alike.

And guess what makes an Instagram gallery even more personal? Dogs! Maybe only because dogs seem to make us humans more human?

Travel pics aren’t a rarity on her account either, and she irradiates her positive vibes even on a packed pre-Covid Times Square:

And finally, as teddy bears seem to be a thing this year, let’s end Eden’s paragraph with one!

3. Vasil

Representing: North Macedonia

Instagram account: vasilg

Followers: 18.4k

How close can a Eurovision artist’s Instagram get to that typical #instagay oeuvre? While his song is certainly not our favourite (sorry Vasil), his gallery is probably the closest to what many of us “normal” folks (gay Eurovision fans who use Instagram) are getting shown in our Instafeeds, or what some – uhm – people we know, maybe even you – like to share themselves. We’re talking about skin and #freethenipple.

But of course, for a musician, some posts about making music can’t be missing either.

Vasil was blond last year, and has a golden and a white rabbit (?) on his shelf, in questionable positions.

And finally, this one reminded us of Armenia 2007, and we’re sure Vasil could sing that one too, also being a convincing actor enough to make people believe his… leaks?… were real. 😢

Time for Montaigne!

Montaigne was – like Gjon – born with lots of charisma and personality. Browsing her gallery, we got the impression she’s really creative with her fashion choices. We approve.

We’re not sure if her favourite (?) t-shirt is technicolour or not, but as long as she likes it…

We also like her Insta because she’s not shy about sharing intimate togetherness, either. And she’s obviously heavily into gardening!

And finally, we scrolled all the way down to this post (still with “Don’t Break Me” hair), in which Montaigne describes her feelings upon the cancellation of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. We feel really sorry for her that she can’t come to Eurovision – despite being selected – for two consecutive years. That must hurt, seriously.

5. Jeangu Macrooy

Representing: The Netherlands

We found Jeangu’s Instagram to be one of those with the most personality indeed, and now we also give the home country’s entrant the honour of closing our Instagram series!

We usually try to avoid sharing content which is basically advertisement, but this time we’re making an exception. His t-shirt, which can be ordered (more information about that in his post), reads – no, nothing with broccoli – “Yu No Man Broko Mi”, which is a key line in his Eurovision song “Birth Of A New Age” in Sranan Tongo, and means “You can’t break me”.

On Jeangu’s Instagram, there’s room for rather artistic photographs…

…as well as fun snapshots with a more personal, authentic note. We like.

And as this Insta Report series for 2021 draws to a close, it’s time to remind you to buy enough booze or non-alcoholic drinks for the upcoming weeks. While we can’t get together to party in person, our chat is always open – so join us for a bit of togetherness in the very different Eurovision that this is doubtlessly going to be.

We hope we’ve been able to inspire you to follow one or another of the Eurovision 2021 artists on Instagram, and what better way to end than with Jeangu and a glass of wine? Cheers, everyone!
